MUDIF – Museo Diffuso del Finale is a cultural ecosystem created to connect and enhance the vast historical, archaeological, and natural heritage of the region. It is a living network that transforms 350,000 years of history into a shared and accessible narrative.
Thanks to the expertise of the Finale Archaeological Museum and a strong partnership between local institutions and associations, MUDIF promotes a model of sustainable development. Its goal is to encourage responsible visits that strengthen the connection between the community, the landscape, and local identity, turning the Finale area into a place of continuous discovery.

Arene Candide Cave
The Arene Candide Cave is one of the most important caves in Europe due to the extraordinary archaeological discoveries made inside it. Through a guided tour led by archaeologists, visitors travel back in time—from the present day to around 30,000 years ago— following over 150 years of archaeological research and excavations.

Castel Gavone
Perched on a hill overlooking Finalborgo, Castel Gavone is the symbolic monument of the Finale area. Built in the 12th century, the castle served as the residential residence of the Del Carretto marquises. Guided by an archaeologist, the visit allows visitors to discover the different phases of the monument’s development from the Middle Ages to the Modern Age, including the magnificent Diamond Tower, one of the most important examples of Renaissance fortification architecture in Italy.

Varigotti Promontory
Projecting out over the sea above the rocky cliffs of Punta Crena, this area is one of the most striking landscapes of western Liguria, notable for its exceptional natural scenery as well as its archaeological and historical significance.
Aycardi Theatre
A small architectural gem in the heart of Finalborgo, the Aycardi Theatre was built during the Napoleonic period, between 1804 and 1806, within the spaces of a former college founded by Giovanni Andrea Aycardi in 1759.
It is therefore the oldest 19th-century theatre with stalls and boxes still preserved in Liguria.
Admission is by free donation during scheduled opening times.
