81 - The Mystical Marriage of saint Catherine

The first chapel on the right-hand side aisle, which used to be sponsored by the Craft Guild of Shoemakers, houses the triptych on gold background of the Mystical Marriage of Saint Catherine between Saint Sebastian and Saint Gottardo bishop, attributed to Lorenzo and Bernardino Fasolo from Pavia.
Painted in 1513 for the Brotherhood of the Disciplinati di Santa Caterina, Saint Gotthard was changed into Saint Biagio by placing a wool carding comb in his hands, when the two brotherhoods of Santa Caterina and San Biagio converged into one.
